Thanks to all those who came to the Dawn of Destruction Metal Fest!

Thanks to all the bands - fantastic sets!

Thanks to my staff; First and foremost to Matt Petti at Scarab Productions who besides
being stage manager, did so much work on the logistics of the whole fest; ordered
and coordinated the back line, designed the poster, came up with the name for the
festival, coordinated the advertising, maintained the websites, and handled on line
ticket sales. I couldn't have asked for a more awesome assistant! To Matt
Hayes
for being our internal drum consultant; and as always to James Stangroom,
whose title we will be soon changing to the Vice President of Everything.

To the crew: Griffin Kissack worked like a tank and did so much and helped out with
changeovers and gear and sound issues as they arose; thank you my friend! Casey
Rogers
was the band chauffeur and solver of small problems; to Mark Zemlak,
who provided his assistance to Watain; to Matt Hayes, Mike Kasper, and Derek
Staines
for helping as stage crew and in a million different ways - I was so grateful
to have you all! Also to Mike for helping with Cephalic Carnage's merch for the
first half of the night; to Liz Jansen for helping with Averse Sefira's merch all
night and to TJ MacLean who assisted with Watain's merch. Thanks to Marie St.
Germain
and Kalev Pihl for doing front of House ticket sales and all the extra stuff
Marie did for me in the days leading up to the show, and there was a lot!
Thanks to Leah McKenny for taking her sewing machine to Watain's hotel room
and helping them with their banners. Thanks to James Stangroom for taking
pictures; they will be up soon! Also many many thanks to Tea Klarich, Viktor
Seremetkoski
and Tammy Schmidt for organizing a bunch of last minute things
for me!

Thanks to all who helped promote the show - from the students, bands and volunteers
here and in Edmonton; to JP Wood and Kevin Woron from CJSW
Radio
, James Neill from Vinland Radio, James Marshalsay from the Crypt and
Dr. Steel
from Metal Net Radio for helping promote the fest on their shows; to
Glen Alderson and his staff at to Beatroute for their early and continued support of
the metal scene in Calgary - you guys rule! Thanks also Chad Persley at Absolute
Underground
magazine, to Elizabeth Rowe from The Weal and to Mandy Ulmer
for starting the facebook page for the event.

Thanks also to Greg Curtis from the Students Union at U of C; to Sound Art, KLM
Backline, the staff of Backstage support, and to Mac Hall Security.
See you all at Noctis II - The Age of Darkness, Saturday October 4th, 2008!

Horns Up!

All Ages show; licensed beer garden.

Featuring:

Cephalic Carnage
Hydro-Grind from USA

"... Cephalic Carnage describe their music as Rocky Mountain hydro-grind, which is as good of a way as any to describe this Denver band's blastbeat-filled fusion of jazz, grindcore and death metal."

http://www.revolvermag.com/

Watain
Black Metal from Sweden

"... Watain is the knife in the stomach of each loving heretic blaspheming the name of the Cult and it's fundaments, one of the few remnants of the dangerous sickness that is the true Black metal scene."

http://www.tartareandesire.com/

Averse Sefira
Black Metal from the USA

"... Averse Sefira blends the hypnotic, melodic riffing style of Norwegian black metal with the precision violence of American death metal, delivered with a clear and professional sound."

http://www.chroniclesofchaos.com/

Divinity
Tech Death from Calgary, Canada

"... Divinity is 100% metal. No Gimmicks, no weak links, simply a terrifically talented and tight band firing on all cylinders. Sonic mayhem so enjoyable it hurts."

http://www.bravewords.com/

Warmarch
Black/Death Metal from Edmonton, Canada

"... chaotic riffing, some heavy metal drumming, all topped with equally talented bass playing. In other terms, think Motorhead gone chaotic, and with no limits!"

http://www.orphy.net

Exit Strategy
Grindcore from Calgary, Canada

"... This is the kind of metal that hits you like a shot of adrenaline and makes you want to destroy everything around you. I wish I was in a mosh pit right now hearing this."

http://www.garageband.com/

Scopes Monkey Trial
Death Metal from Calgary, Canada

"... Thinking man's metal"

Nebelwerfer, (Operation Wintermist)

"... Combining intelligent thought with a traditional metal heart, Scopes Monkey Trial bridges an evolutionary gap between man's need for expression and the inevitability of change."
